Mai bucket list : How would I spend my last day on Earth

Obviously we're all alive and kicking and the world definitely not gonna end today nor anytime soon. Screw the Mayans for spreading that news! But honestly last night I was kinda waiting for anything to happen, haha. Silly how I was so excited for doomsday because I simply love anything zombie. I even planned to wear just a jogging outfit so I could just easily walk, jump and run just in case the zombie mobs start chasing me-lol! Ok, I kid but seriously that End of the world thing somehow freaks us out right? What if the world really ends today--just like the movie--what would you do? How would you spend your last day on earth? Well, at least I'm prepared--so just in case I have my bucket list ready. Ta-da!

1) Wake up earlier than usual: For a change and of course to maximize my time and to get more things done (since hello! it's my last day on earth).

2.) Eat heavy breakfast : I'll be needing lots of energy for it's sure real a long--tiring day and probably that's gonna be my last meal.

3.) Dress up like I will just go for a jog : Like what I said I have to wear the most comfortable clothes so I won't have a hard time walking, jumping and running while the world ends (no way I'm gonna wear a corset and a heels sayang).

4.) Send everyone I love a text message : I'll send them message that says I love them and  thanks for being a part of my life and yeah--sorry if I did them wrong before the world finally ends (if not now, when?).

5.) Update my blog, facebook and twitter : I'll sure miss my virtual world so I'll probably will make an update for the last time and (bids my farewell perhaps before that world wide blackout).

6.) Take picture of myself, of everyone and everything : Just one last shot before the world turns into no-man's land. And that's how gonna be memorable my last outfit shot is.

7.) Buy all the things I want : Like my most wanted shoes, bags, accessories and clothes. Now it's the time to finally spend all that money left. Though I can't use all the stuff I'll buy at least I'll be able to buy all I want.

8.) Get drunk : For the record I'll get drunk like I never been before. It helps since it can make me more brave to face the end of the world. I will fight--yaaaaah!

9.) Go on a top of  a building : And watch  how the world ends just like watching it in 3D (with popcorn).

10.) Make love : And the last but definitely not the least on my list is to make love like it's the end of the world (well in fact it is already) lol. Don't mind the total blackout, the polar shift, the meteor strike and the solar storm just go with that climactic finale, hahaha.

Ok fine, enough with that silly things! I maybe taking this whole thing as a hoax but kidding aside if ever the world really ends today I'll be just doing nothing. I'll just stay at home with my family and boyfriend, we will just pray and hold hands till the very end.

36th UbeKeso Day : How to Have a Long Term Relationship That Lasts

Mikel and I are celebrating our 36th Ubekeso Day (3 years anniv) today and I still can't believe that we've been together this long. You guys don't know what I'd been through just to be this lucky~oh well blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see true love--haha!

Anyway, last night I already got my mini surprise. It was so funny how I was thinking of what surprise he'll give me today~only to be surprised with an un expected surprise a bit earlier (what?) haha. Ok, I won't go into details since that one deserves a special post~which I'll be doing real soon~ I promise. For now, I feel like sharing some relationship how to's to you guys. It's because today is our 36th Ubekeso day and I am feeling all the love in the world for the past three years. You know it's not really a joke and it's not easy to get to three years I swear~and making each day romantic and inspiring is another story. It's not something that can be done overnight~it takes a lot of working out to do~believe me.

( I love how the photo formed letter M for Mai and Mikel~yay!)

So here are some  reliable how to's and hope they help. Here we go!

How to Have a Long Term Relationship That Lasts

1) Build your compatibility

Falling in love may seem spontaneous, but as the relationship grows, you’d start to realize that the spontaneous love starts to flicker and transition into a mature love that’s based on understanding and compatibility. Can you really live with each other? You may have different perspectives and interests, but can you find a way to bring them all under one roof and still live happily?

What may now seem like a minor nuisance can eventually turn into something that can end a relationship.

2) Never let frustrations and hatred build up

Never ever let a mole hill grow into a mountain. If something about your partner or their behavior disturbs you, learn to say it out immediately. Every time you yell at a partner or find yourself getting frustrated, you have to understand that it doesn’t happen all of a sudden.

Frustrations always build up slowly. What starts off as a little nagging thought slowly builds up over time into hatred and anger. But if you let things build up in your head, your partner would never understand the things that really bother you, until the day you burst out in a rage.

Retaliation and ego are the two traits of humans that surface first when someone makes an accusation. Unless you’re looking for an argument, help you partner understand you better by talking about anything that bothers you, even if it seems trivial at first.

3) Be truthful and frank with each other

If you want to know how to have a long term relationship, you need to learn to be truthful with each other, be it about a nagging irritation, a fancy sexual fetish or a friendly crush on someone else.

When you’re truthful, it’ll help your partner understand you better and know you better as a person. A little white lie is acceptable especially when the truth would hurt your partner. But if it’s something that can affect your relationship, be truthful even if the truth stings.

4) Unique strengths that complement each other

As individuals, all of us come with our own strengths and weaknesses. In a potential long term relationship, you need to learn to use your strengths and weaknesses to complement each other and help each other. If you’re an intellectual thinker and your partner’s a smooth talker, don’t get frustrated or egoistic because of the different strengths. Instead, learn to use each other’s strengths to become more efficient.

Co dependence is a strength that’s waiting to be harnessed in a long term relationship. Use it, instead of fighting against it and enduring a bad relationship.

5) Think “we” not “I”

Do you think of your partner each time you’re invited to a party or have to plan an evening? When you’re a couple that’s truly in love with each other, you should think like a couple and keep your partner’s interests in mind just as much as you care about your own interests.

6) Avoid insecurities

Insecurities crop up when there are doubts. Doubts arise when there are miscommunication and half-truths. Long term relationships are built on truth and trust.

Try to think of your partner as a mortal being, who has feelings and thoughts like anyone else! Most lovers try to imagine their partner to be the perfect character in a fairytale. And when they see a human side in their partner like flirting or getting attracted to someone else, lovers panic.

But really, you do enjoy flirting and you may think someone on the street is gorgeous. Does that mean you’d cheat on your partner? No.

Learn to avoid insecurities by being truthful with each other and helping your partner understand you better.

7) Trust your instincts

Hunches in a relationship are almost always true. When you think your partner’s bothered or unhappy, big chances are you’re right. If you feel like there’s something wrong in the relationship, there probably is. Trust your instincts and speak to your partner when you feel something in the air. It’ll help create a happier relationship.

8) Share common values
Experiencing a happy long term relationship takes compatibility, but it also depends a lot on common values, be it spiritual or mental. Infatuation and attraction may bring two dissimilar people together, but first glances and sexual attraction aren’t enough to hold a relationship together.

If you want to have a long term relationship, you need to be willing to compromise and merge your ideas and values together so both of you can look at life with the same perspective and through the same looking glass.

9) Quality time matters

You may know a lot about each other, but people change all the time. You do and so does your partner. Do you still know your partner well or do you only remember the person you first met? Most lovers take each other for granted, especially when it comes to matters of the mind. Learn to grow together. Exchange ideas and talk about new thoughts.

Spend time together and indulge in activities that can bring both of you together. Sharing hobbies like gardening and chores like cooking can create the perfect atmosphere for new conversations and ideas that can help both of you understand each other better, even if both of you have changed and evolved since the time you first dated.

10) Experience a good sex life

One of the drawbacks of long term relationships is the effort it takes to enjoy a pleasurable sex life. But it doesn’t always have to be that way. Try to keep sex exciting and fresh by creating new ways to reignite the passion, even if a few of the thoughts are taboo or frowned upon by many others. After all, if it makes you and your partner happy, why care about what others think?

11) Ask your conscience

This may be the hardest to face, but it’s also the easiest way to create a fulfilling and happy long term relationship. Do you really think you’re doing all it takes to keep your partner happy and your relationship glowing bright?

Ask your own conscience if you’re sincerely making the effort and doing the right thing to bring happiness into your partner’s life? If your conscience thinks you can come up with better ways to please your partner, it’s obvious you aren’t giving it your all. A successful long term relationship involves two lovers who care about each other’s happiness more than their own.

If you can’t put your soulmate’s happiness ahead of yours, are you really in love or are you just wrapped around your own desires?

12) Visualize and plan your life together

Can you see your partner in your life five years or even a decade from now? Can you picture your own perfect little happy fantasy where the two of you are together and happy in love? If you can’t dream it, you can’t live it.

Couples that get to experience a blissful long term relationship know how to dream together and build their future, in their mind and in real life. Take decisions together and plan your life together if you want to enjoy a long relationship.

Dreaming of a life together and working towards it is one of those little fantasies that may just come true!

Knowing how to have a long term relationship may require these twelve steps, but it also requires your effort and your interest in building a long relationship with your partner. Follow these steps and you’ll definitely be on your way to experiencing a beautiful long term relationship.

36th UbeKeso Day : Through The Years

Just a couple hours from now and we're getting 3!  36 months of being together is no joke. We’ve been through our ups and downs and yet still managed to stick by each other. It’s not always easy but somehow our love stays strong. We make each other happy so I guess this is definitely where we belong. I don't know what else to say, I get so over whelmed with this vast array of photos so I'll just let them and this song do the rest of the talking. :)

I can't remember when you weren't there
When I didn't care for anyone but you
I swear we've been through everything there is
Can't imagine anything we've missed
Can't imagine anything the two of us can't do

Through the years, you've never let me down
You turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
I've never been afraid, I've loved the life we've made
And I'm so glad I've stayed, right here with you
Through the years

I can't remember what I used to do
Who I trusted, who I listened to before
I swear you taught me everything I know
Can't imagine needing someone so
But through the years it seems to me
I need you more and more

Through the years, through all the good and bad
I KNOW how much we had, I've always been so glad
To be with you ... Through the years
It's better every day, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years

Through the years, when everything went wrong
Together we were strong, I know that I belong
Right here with you ... Through the years
I never had a doubt, we'd always work things out
I've learned what life's about, by loving you
Through the years

Through the years, you've never let me down
You've turned my life around, the sweetest days I've found
I've found with you ... Through the years
It's better every day, you've kissed my tears away
As long as it's okay, I'll stay with you
Through the years...

Outfit post: Dress to Express

Before the much awaited Christmas Party photos let me just show you guys what I wore to the party. As mentioned on my previous post, this year's  theme was Dress to Impress--so literally I wore a dress-- lol! and I just hope I was able to impress them--another lol! So here's the story--I bought this dress a couple of months ago and tell you guys it fits me well but when I wore it last Sat--omg! it was already a bit tight. Yeah, I know I really gained weight *sigh* blame my lazy ass! But thank goodness my magic dress is a good catch it gave me an hourglass shape (ansavee?) ok, again I kid. Anyway, I decided to wear a Bustier dress because bustiers are like corsets and I've been dying to wear a corset for the longest time--since the very first time I laid my eyes on it on movies. I watched lots of classic movies where most women used corsets to shape their bodies into perfection (like the one Rose wore in Titanic). I just find wearing it so sexy yet tasteful and elegant. Though the only problem I guess is wearing them, if it wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience--I'll probably wear one everyday--haha. But it's hard work and will take time to tight lace. So can you just imagine wearing one on a daily basis?, you'll be needing an assistant or else you'll screw it yourself for hours (that's what you call 'TIIS GANDA') lol.

God thing now with bustiers, we don't need to tight lace just to look extra curvy--we're lucky that we can just avail that hourglass figure in an instant--without the hassle of tightening and loosening of the laces--yay! So bustiers are the perfect pieces to wear this season--with all the parties and festivities we don't want those bloating tummy get in the way right?! Here's the proof : I got my outfit shot after the party. Just don't mind the flabby arms :)

What the hell is the difference between a corset and a bustier you may ask? Well, I got the answer my sweeties--of course best friend google to the rescue.

Bustier:
A bustier is a sleeveless top that spans the bust to the waist (sometimes touching the hips or the top area of the butt) and it is worn either as lingerie or as outer clothing. It is form fitting and it may sometimes have garters attached to it. Modern bustiers now have thin lacy straps but most bustiers are like tube tops.

Corset:
The corset was developed more than a millennium ago. It is a close fitted boned undergarment that shapes a woman’s torso. It can either extend from above or below the bust to the hips, giving that appropriate binding effect to have a flatter waistline.

As you can see from the definition above, the two are more likely to be called as twins. They look the same and they practically do the same thing. But in the interest of settling the debate, one huge difference between the two is that the corset came first in terms of origin while the bustier came trailing decades later. A more prominent difference is that a corset does not always cover the breasts while a bustier always does. A corset that covers the chest area is called an over-bust corset.

And if you may ask me, for me bustier is just more of a modern adaptation of a corset. It is more easier and more comfortable to wear and that can easily matches with a lot of different pieces. Like what I did with my floral bustier dress. I just paired it with my  purple platform wedge ankle strap pump and colorful accessories to add some pop.

So what do you guys think? Hope I was able to pull it off  and was able to impress the crowd with my magic dress--lol. But seriously, dressing up doesn't really mean to impress people--at least for me. I like to think of myself as a crafty person so the truth about me dressing up is to express myself in one thing and do something that i love and nothing more. Dressing up is something I love doing since I was 5 whether for myself or with my paper dolls so that's already a given. I would somehow like to consider myself a barbie and tell you I'd been lusting over her perfect bods--but I'm no a barbie and this is reality. I know I am yet far and still have a lot of  working out to do to keep those unwanted pounds away and be like her. But that can wait for next year--for now I'll just enjoy all the  food that holiday has to offer (partial chos).

Some might say 'There is nothing more feminine and appealing than the hourglass silhouette of a woman' but also keep in mind that nothing can beat the inner goddess in you--just be yourself and love it. So no matter what shape or size don't sit still for those  perceived inadequacies get the better of you and your self-esteem. You need not to have a perfect shape just to be sexy. You need not to dress to impress other but to express yourself and you need not high-end brands just to look beautiful. Always remember that you are Beautiful no matter what they say.

Outfit details: Bustier dress from St. Francis Square, Accessories all from Kabuting-tingan, Studded bag and Purple platform wedge  ankle strap pump I bought from my office mate.

ps. I'd like to commend the sweetest boyfriend for painstakingly taking my outfit shots (so sorry for the lighting though) amidst the mob in Mega. Thank you and I see you <3

I'm definitely gonna miss everyone and everything on GG--especially GG's juicy gossips and of course her ever awesome--life awakening words of wisdom. Here are some of my favorite:

Season 1
  • “Here’s a little tip, Jenny: the faster you rise, the harder you fall. Hope that Hello Kitty sleeping bag doubles as a parachute.”
  • “Too bad no one told him: you can’t save a damsel if she loves her distress.”
  • “Sometimes you need to step outside, clear your head and remind yourself of who you are. And where you wanna be. And sometimes you have to venture outside your world in order to find yourself.”
  • “What’s the difference between gossip and scandal? So glad you asked. Anyone can commit a minor indiscretion and generate a day’s worth of buzz, but in order for gossip to birth a true scandal it requires the right person to be in the wrong place. Take one ‘it’ girl on a pedestal, add a crowd eager to see her fall, and give them the means to knock her down.”
  • “As any good general knows, you never let your soldiers see you sweat. Looks like this battle’s ending at Butter, and the win goes to B. Victory is sweet.”
  • “Don’t look so sad little J! The sun will come out tomorrow, even though your boyfriend did today.”
  • “But the worst thing the truth can do? Is when you finally tell it, it doesn’t set you free… but locks you away, forever.”
Season 2
  • “As summer comes to an end, I’d like to share a few things I’ve learned about fun in the sun. Gossip Girl’s guide to summer fun tip #1: Don’t fall asleep on the job. The best hookups are free of morning breath and awkward conversation. The only thing better than making up … is waking up.”
  • “Summer Tip #2. There is no ‘we’ in summer. Only u and me.”
  • “Summer Tip #3. Take time to stop and smell the flowers. It’s true that all good things must come to an end. August is no exception. They don’t call it Fall for nothing.”
  • “If you can’t stand the heat … there’s always a cold shower.”
  • “One bad thing about making a deal with the devil is, he always comes to collect.”
  • “The past is always with us, just waiting to mess with the present.”
  • “One thing about being on the top of the world.. it gives you a long, long way to fall.”
  • “The thing about new beginnings is that they require something else to end.”
  • “Sticks and stones may break bones, but a poison pen is the best revenge.”
  • “They say every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and once something is set on motion, it can’t help up to build a momentum.”
  • “In life, as in art, some endings are bittersweet. Especially when it comes to love. Sometimes fate throws two lovers together only to rip them apart. Sometimes the hero finally makes the right choice but the timing is all wrong. And, as they say, timing is everything.”
 Season 3
  • “Forget a grand entrance. Everyone knows that it’s the exit they’ll remember.”
  • “Life isn’t a fairy tale, and happy endings are few and far between.”
  • “On the Upper East Side, the rules of battle are simple: there are no rules.”
  • “Sometimes, despite the risk, the most important thing is to seize the moment. Or whatever else you can grab.”
  • “We make our own fortunes, and call them fate. And what better excuse to choose a path than to insist it’s our destiny? But at the end of the day, we all have to live with our choices … no matter who’s looking over our shoulder.”
  • “They say there are no accidents. Sometimes reality comes crashing into us. Other times it dawns on us slowly, despite our best efforts to ignore it.”
  • “As a famed literary critic once told Oprah, memory is subjective. It can be embellished or denied. But as James Fray knows all too well, the truth always comes out.Sometimes it’s hard to see the lines we’ve drawn until we’ve crossed them. That’s when we rely on the ones we love to pull us back and give us something to hold onto. Then there are the clearly marked lines. The ones that if you dare cross, you may never find your way back.”
  • “In Manhattan, some parties are VIP only. Others are strictly private. But some parties are political, and those lines are drawn by the most established of the establishment. And once those lines are drawn, they can never be crossed.”
  Season 4
  • But our most dangerous enemies are the ones we never knew we had.”
  • “We may surprise ourselves as we face our future. Or be surprised when we’re cleaning up the past.”
  • “A wise woman once said that every morning when you wake up you say a little prayer. After all, you never know what your day may hold.”
  • “They say the universe has a great sense of humor. That sometimes having your dreams come true can feel like a nightmare. Because getting what you want always come with strings attached.”
  • “And even when you think you’re finally in the clear, you’re never home free.”
  • “When you do finally get what you want, the problem is there’s always someone that’s trying to take it away. And all that wanting makes us blind to the fact that things aren’t exactly what we think they are. Maybe it’s better sometimes to just get what you need.”
  • “As with any journey, who you travel with can be more important than your destination.”
  • “You never know who you’ll encounter along the way. Who knows, maybe fairy tales come true after all.”
  • “You can never really know someone until you walk a mile in their shoes. At first it might not seem like the most natural fit, but walk around in those shoes long enough and you’ll discover you might like it. Just don’t get too comfortable, kids, because you never know when the other shoe is going to drop.”
  • “They say love is the best medicine… unless you don’t take it.”
  • “Everything you ever wanted seems possible. Until you realize, the nightmare’s just beginning.”
 Season 5
  • Sticks and stones may just break bones, but the wounds from words never heal. Especially when they’re words we hoped we’d never read.”
  • “Often all it takes to find a new path is to make a sharp turn and see what you find. But beware. Sometimes what you’re faced with is a dead end.”
  • “The thing about expectations is most of the time, someone else sets them for you. Yet you feel like they’ve been there all along. And you can’t wait to live up to them. But just because you know what’s expected of you doesn’t mean you still can’t surprise everyone.”
  • “You often find, what you least expect is right in front of you. Waiting to change everything forever. Whether you want to or not.”
  • “They say blood is thicker than water. But it’s also a lot harder to clean up when it spills.”
  • “They say the only way to conquer your fear is face what you fear the most. You must walk into the belly of the beast. And risk the possibility of failure. But try to hide from your fear, and you risk it swallowing you whole.”
  • “Face your fears and the rewards can be profound. You can discover the true depth of a relationship. Or what you’re capable of withstanding. The problem is, the more you gain, the more you stand to lose.”
  • “That’s the thing about writing what you know. Soon everybody else knows it too.”
  • “They say the road of life is long and winding. So it’s important to mark the milestones along the way.”
  • “They say every road comes to an end, but sometimes the end feels just like the beginning. Even when you think you’ve come a long way, you can suddenly find yourself right back where you started. Because every journey is fraught with twists and turns.”
  • “And some masks we wear because we hope to stay hidden. But that’s the problem with wearing masks. They can be ripped off at any moment.”
  • “If you ever find yourself sick with Saturday Night Fever, the last thing you want is someone to turn up the heat.”
  • “If you’re going to play with matches make sure you don’t leave them around to spark the flame anew. Disco isn’t actually dead. And neither am I.”
  • “But at the end of the day, our fate is decided for us. All we can do is hope we have the strength to cope with the hand she deals us.”
  • “Camus said that life is the sum of our choices. Choose wisely and fortune smiles upon you. But choose poorly? You never know what price you’ll have to pay.”
Though I feel bad today's gonna be the last episode-- I am also excited to watch the finale--I'd been waiting to death to know if who Goosip girl really is. And also I am delighted for DERENA and CHAIR's love story--and how they would end. I can't wait to go home and watch it online--I'd been very careful not to read any spoiler since I want to see it myself. Oh, well--So long Gossip Girl! It's been a great show--hats off y'all!
